The rising inmate population is a significant problem in the industry of corrections. The growing number of prison populations across the country creates several challenges. One challenge is how prison officials can offset idleness and remain methodical in choosing the most appropriate programs to match the needs of every offender. The purpose of this quantitative predictive correlational study was to determine whether there is a statistically significant difference on the impact of adult inmate participation in two community service programs on the frequency and severity of infractions.
